The news of fully vaccinated eligible Student Visa & Student Guardian visa holders can travel to Australia without needing to apply for a travel exemption from 1st December 2021 was announced on 22nd November 2021.
However, with the surge of the Omicron variant, the Australian Government has deferred the easing of border restrictions for international students until 15th December 2021 to gather further information needed to better understand the new COVID-19 variant.
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding Australia Travel Updates:
1. What are the quarantine requirements for eligible international arrivals of each state and territory? *
New South Wales (NSW), Victoria (VIC) and Australian Capital Territory (ACT)
Pause to further easing of border restriction till 15th December 2021.
South Australia (SA), Queensland (QLD), Western Australia (WA) and Tasmania (TAS)
Quarantine-free entry will be implemented once reach 90% fully vaccinated.
Northern Territory (NT)
Apply for Border Entry Form and may be permitted to undertake 7 days home quarantine.
2. What is the Australia recognised vaccines and dosages accepted for the purpose of travel?

At least 7 days must have passed since the final dose of vaccine in a course of immunisation to be considered fully vaccinated. Mixed doses count towards being fully vaccinated as long as all vaccines are approved or recognised by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
