UQ’s Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is an internationally recognised graduate research degree designed to develop you into an independent researcher. With guidance from an advisory team, you undertake an original research project, produce a substantial thesis of around 80,000 words and complete an oral examination. Full-time study typically takes 3–4 years (or part-time equivalent) in your chosen research field.
