About the course
This Doctor of Philosophy (Indigenous) is a research doctorate designed to support high-quality Indigenous-led and Indigenous-focused scholarship. You will undertake an original research project with guidance from experienced supervisors and progress through structured intensives that help build confidence navigating Indigenous and Western knowledge intersections. The degree is delivered through the Indigenous Education & Research Centre and can be studied online or on campus within Arts & Humanities.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research and leadership roles that contribute to Indigenous knowledge, policy and community outcomes. Career pathways may include academic and research appointments, Indigenous research leadership in universities and institutes, and specialist roles in government, community-controlled organisations and NGOs where evidence-based programmes are designed and evaluated. This PhD supports advanced research careers in Indigenous studies and related Arts & Humanities fields.
