About the course
ECU’s Doctor of Philosophy is an independent, supervised research degree where you investigate a topic at the highest academic level. You’ll propose and complete a substantial project, examined through a thesis or (where relevant) a creative work and exegesis. The PhD can be undertaken in any School, subject to suitable supervision and resources, and may be interdisciplinary across multiple fields. The programme emphasises independent research, methodology, and thesis development aligned with the discipline's scholarly standards.
