About the course
Deakin’s Doctor of Medicine is a four-year graduate-entry program focused on preparing future medical practitioners through strong clinical training and person-centred care. It emphasises rural and regional healthcare, Indigenous health, ethics and law, and working with underserved communities. Students build foundations in the first two years, then complete extensive full-time clinical placements across a range of hospital, GP and community settings in the Doctor of Medicine.

Graduates are prepared for professional practice as doctors and for ongoing postgraduate training pathways. The degree supports careers across regional and metropolitan health services, with experience in primary care, hospital and community settings.
