About the course
UniReady Academic English Competency is a supportive enabling course for students who meet Curtin’s academic entry requirements but need to satisfy the English language requirement. It develops academic English through structured, scaffolded learning focused on writing and communication. Delivery is flexible, with on-campus, online and summer intensive options. This is an enabling English pathway course. The programme develops education knowledge and teaching-related skills aligned with its qualification level.
What you might learn
You’ll build proficiency in academic writing by producing clear, structured texts that meet university entry standards. You’ll develop critical reading and research skills to analyse and synthesise academic sources, and strengthen oral and written communication for academic and professional contexts, adapting language to suit audience and purpose. This enabling course focuses on academic English capability.
