About the course

The Specialist Certificate in Clinical Rehabilitation provides foundational training in contemporary rehabilitation science and practice across clinical and community settings. It builds understanding of the multiple determinants of health that influence wellbeing and applies best-practice rehabilitation principles nationally and globally. The course develops practical capabilities in exercise prescription, goal setting, physical activity measurement and fitness evaluation for allied health practice.

What you might learn

Students will develop evidence-informed skills to design and implement holistic, person-centred rehabilitation strategies for individuals and groups. The course aims to strengthen competence in clinical decision-making, including evaluating fitness and conditioning and applying rehabilitation and habilitation principles. Graduates will be better equipped to analyse health determinants and translate rehabilitation science into effective practice.

Career outcome

Graduates can apply enhanced rehabilitation science and exercise-prescription skills within allied health and clinical practice settings. The qualification supports professional development for physiotherapists, occupational therapists, exercise scientists, nurses and other health professionals working in rehabilitation across hospitals, outpatient services and community programs. It may assist progression into more specialised rehabilitation-focused roles and further study in clinical rehabilitation.

Entry requirements

Qualified allied health professionals (including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, exercise scientists, nurses and medical doctors). English language requirement: IELTS 7.0 with no band less than 7.0.
