About the course
This Indigenous Education specialisation, offered within Macquarie’s Master of Education, develops advanced capability to support better outcomes for Indigenous peoples through education. You’ll engage in ethical community consultation under Indigenous governance, incorporate Indigenous language into teaching resources, and explore Indigenist, futurist and abolitionist perspectives. Study is designed for flexible hybrid delivery combining on-campus and online classes in Education & Teaching at postgraduate level.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles supporting Indigenous education across schools, community and policy settings. Career paths may include community liaison officer, Indigenous cultural adviser, Indigenous education consultant, education policy adviser, educator in Indigenous communities, Indigenous support worker, or language documentation roles.
