About the course

This short skill set provides the essential safety knowledge required to work on construction sites in Victoria and obtain a Construction Induction (CI) White Card. You’ll cover key workplace health and safety responsibilities, hazard identification and risk controls, and safe work practices relevant to the construction environment. Delivery is on campus at selected RMIT locations, supporting entry to site-based construction work in the building industry. The programme develops engineering knowledge and technical skills aligned with its qualification level and industry expectations.

Career outcome

Completing this skill set supports eligibility for a Construction Induction (CI) White Card, a common requirement for accessing construction worksites. It can help you begin or continue work across building and trades environments, including labouring and trade-assistant roles, and supports safer participation in site activities under workplace WHS expectations.
