About the course
Flinders’ postgraduate Women’s and Gender Studies builds critical understanding of gender and its intersections with sexuality, class and race. You’ll explore feminist politics, empowerment, human rights, Indigenous knowledges and LGBTIQ issues, using intersectional approaches to question assumptions and support social change. Study options include online and on-campus delivery, supporting professional development across diverse sectors in women’s and gender studies at postgraduate level.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles that advance gender equity and improve understanding of women’s and gender issues across organisations. Opportunities may be found in government and NGOs, advocacy and human rights agencies, education, consultancies, arts and cultural organisations, media, and private industry with gender equality strategies. Typical roles include gender mainstreaming specialist, project coordinator, development or fundraising officer, writer or media creator—postgraduate arts and humanities-focused work.
