About the course
This undergraduate Interior Architecture Specialisation is a four-unit sequence designed to complement an existing Curtin degree. You’ll examine key art and design movements and the wider social, political and technological contexts that shape spatial experience, including Indigenous perspectives. Study core interior elements such as colour, light, materials, sound, space and furnishings, plus an introductory philosophy and practice unit. The specialisation culminates in either an international in-situ studio or a work-based multidisciplinary project in interior design.
Career outcome
Graduates can use this specialisation to broaden capability for roles that engage with the design and experience of interior spaces. It supports pathways into interior design and interior architecture-related work across studios, property and construction contexts, and client-focused spatial projects. The capstone studio or work-based project builds experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams and responding to real stakeholder needs. This undergraduate specialisation strengthens employability in design and visual art fields connected to interior environments.
