About the course
This Geophysics Minor introduces methods used to investigate the interior of Earth and other celestial bodies. You will build practical skills through guided group and individual laboratory activities and see how geophysics helps address real problems in environmental science, groundwater management, engineering and archaeology. The minor also explores applications in planetary exploration, strategic mineral discovery and the energy resources sector as an undergraduate science-focused minor.
Career outcome
Graduates who add a Geophysics Minor can strengthen career pathways where subsurface understanding and geophysical data are valued. Skills are relevant across environmental and groundwater investigations, engineering and infrastructure support, archaeological and heritage survey, and exploration contexts including minerals and energy resources. The minor can help prepare you for entry-level roles assisting field surveys, data acquisition and interpretation within geoscience teams as part of an undergraduate science-focused minor.
