About the course
QUT College’s General English Program (35 Weeks) builds practical English for everyday life, work and future study. You develop reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, improve fluency, accuracy, vocabulary and pronunciation, and gain confidence communicating socially and professionally. Classes run weekdays in small, interactive groups with placement into an appropriate level. This is a non-award English & Modern Languages program. The programme develops education knowledge and teaching-related skills aligned with its qualification level.
Career outcome
Completing the General English Program (35 Weeks) strengthens your English for workplace communication, further English study and preparation for academic pathways. You graduate with a certificate showing study length, attendance and exit level, which can support applications for additional language programs such as English for Academic Purposes and progression to other study. This is an English & Modern Languages language program rather than a direct job-qualification. Preparing graduates for education-related roles and further study pathways matched to the programme level.
