This five-week, full-time English Language Program helps students develop academic English for further study. Delivered on campus in Hobart, it focuses on effective spoken and written communication, including presenting arguments, writing academic texts, and critically engaging with English-medium sources. The program is designed to support progression into English for Academic Purposes study and university pathways in English & Modern Languages. The programme develops education knowledge and teaching-related skills aligned with its qualification level.
Career outcome
This short English language program strengthens academic communication skills that support study and work in English-speaking contexts. Graduates may use the improved reading, writing, speaking and critical analysis skills to progress to further English for Academic Purposes levels and prepare for tertiary study requirements. It is a non-award, pathway-style program in English & Modern Languages rather than a direct qualification leading to a specific occupation.
