About the course
English for Academic Purposes 1 Extended is an intensive English language program at QUT College designed to build academic skills for future university study. Across 15 weeks full-time, you develop writing, speaking, listening and reading for study, practise research and referencing, and learn to communicate confidently in an Australian university environment. This is a non-award English & Modern Languages pathway program. The programme develops education knowledge and teaching-related skills aligned with its qualification level.
Career outcome
This program strengthens the academic English you need to progress into QUT College Foundation or Diploma studies, or continue to English for Academic Purposes (EAP) 2. It supports success in later undergraduate or postgraduate coursework by improving academic writing, presentations, note-taking, research and participation in tutorials. This is an Others-level English & Modern Languages pathway, rather than a direct professional qualification. Preparing graduates for education-related roles and further study pathways matched to the programme level.
