About the course

This undergraduate Employment Relations specialisation builds expertise in managing workplace relationships within the broader human resource management profession. You examine the employee–employer relationship and the roles of unions, employer associations and government, alongside the legal and regulatory environment. Learning emphasises practical application through case studies, case law and scenario-based assessments to support career-focused study in employment relations and HR.

Career outcome

Graduates who complete this specialisation as part of an eligible degree can pursue roles supporting positive workplace relations and compliance. Typical pathways include HR advisor/business partner, employment relations advisor/consultant, industrial relations manager, workplace relations specialist, industrial officer and workplace operations leadership. Opportunities span banking and insurance, government, resources and manufacturing, hospitality, management consulting, and trade union or employer associations in the HR and employment relations field.
