About the course
This 15-week English Language Program at the University of Tasmania helps students build practical and academic English for study and everyday communication. Delivered full-time in Hobart, it supports development in speaking, writing and understanding English-medium materials, with an individualised study plan set by ELC academic staff. This is a non-award English language programme in English & Modern Languages. The programme develops education knowledge and teaching-related skills aligned with its qualification level.
Career outcome
This 15-week English Language Program strengthens English communication skills that can support entry to further study and improve workplace readiness in English-speaking contexts. Graduates may use the improved language ability to pursue university pathways or roles requiring clear spoken and written English across customer service, administration and community-facing work. This is a non-award English & Modern Languages programme. Preparing graduates for education-related roles and further study pathways matched to the programme level.
