About the course
This undergraduate Cybersecurity Specialisation develops foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and challenges across both high- and low-level contexts. Delivered in an applied, project-based learning environment, it builds skills to identify security issues and implement appropriate controls to protect organisations and individual assets. It is completed as a set of four units alongside an undergraduate degree in IT & Computer Science. The programme develops computing knowledge and technical skills aligned with its qualification level and industry expectations.
Career outcome
Graduates strengthen their capability to support cybersecurity practice within technical teams by identifying threats, assessing vulnerabilities and applying controls to protect systems and data. The specialisation can assist pathways into roles such as cybersecurity analyst, security operations (SOC) team member, risk and compliance support, incident response assistant, or secure systems support across government, finance, resources and technology sectors. It provides undergraduate-level skills development in IT & Computer Science.
