About the course
This postgraduate program prepares registered nurses and midwives for specialised community practice in child, adolescent and family health nursing. It emphasises care in the early years while also addressing middle childhood and adolescent health, with a flexible curriculum aligned to primary health care. The pathway is offered as a Graduate Certificate and as a specialisation within the Graduate Diploma and Master of Nursing, each including clinical placement requirements for the specialisation.
Career outcome
Graduates can work across child and family health-related services, providing preventive care, health promotion and support for complex health issues for individuals, families and communities. Employment settings may include schools, home health, rehabilitation and extended care services, research, drug and alcohol services, and family and child health and public environmental health programs. Preparing graduates for health-related roles and further study pathways matched to the programme level.
