About the course
The Master of Theological Studies (MTS) provides postgraduate study in theology within a Catholic university setting and an Ecclesiastical Faculty partnership. You will build foundations in theology while developing critical analysis and faith-informed inquiry through studies in philosophy, Sacred Scripture, Catholic theology and related disciplines. The program includes a core course and electives, with an optional research component. This is a Masters program in theological studies.
Career outcome
Graduates can apply theological knowledge and communication skills across church and community contexts. The degree supports pathways into roles involving ministry preparation, catechesis and faith formation, pastoral and parish work, education support, and service in Catholic agencies and not-for-profits. It also provides a basis for further theological study or research, and for contributing to public life through informed engagement with scripture, doctrine and ethics. This is a Masters qualification in theology.
