About the course
Murdoch’s Master of Teaching (Primary) is an initial teacher education qualification for graduates from non-education degrees who want to teach in primary schools. You’ll build specialist curriculum and classroom skills through a blended delivery model and extensive supervised professional experience in schools. The course emphasises connecting theory to practice and developing a professional teaching portfolio for registration-ready practice in primary education at master’s level.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles as primary school teachers (Years 1–6) in Australia or internationally, working across government, independent and Catholic school systems. The degree supports development of practical classroom capability through substantial professional placements and preparation for teacher registration requirements. You may also progress into education-related pathways such as curriculum support, learning support roles, and broader school-based leadership development in primary teaching at master’s level.
