About the course
UniSQ’s Master of Social Work (Qualifying) is an accredited pathway to become a professional social worker in two years full-time. You’ll build advanced communication, critical thinking and solution-focused practice skills, and complete 1000 hours of supervised field education. The program emphasises culturally safe and responsive practice, including working alongside First Nations peoples, and offers a choice of professional electives or a research dissertation pathway in the final year.

Career outcome
Graduates can deliver social work services across diverse practice areas such as disability, health and mental health, community services, child, youth and family wellbeing, education, research, not-for-profit organisations and criminal justice. The degree supports progression into leadership and policy advocacy roles. Potential job titles include clinical or medical social worker, child welfare specialist, community centre director/manager, substance abuse counsellor and public policy advisor.
