About the course
This AASW-accredited Master of Social Work (Qualifying) prepares you to practise as a professional social worker and advocate for social justice and human rights. You’ll develop skills to work across government and non-government human and community services, including diverse and complex practice areas. The course includes supervised field education totalling 140 days (two placements) and supports progression into professional practice and leadership in social work.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue professional social work roles across hospitals and health services, community and family services, child protection, justice and advocacy organisations. The qualification also supports pathways into community development, local and government policy work, social research and program management. Career options span public and non-government sectors, with opportunities to work with diverse communities and complex client needs as a Masters-qualified social work practitioner.
