About the course
This research-focused Master of Science deepens expertise in biology and chemical sciences through an independently conducted, academically supervised project. You will work with Deakin researchers to build advanced disciplinary knowledge and research capability, culminating in a thesis of up to 50,000 words, with at least one coursework unit. It prepares graduates for scientific research roles and potential PhD pathways in the biological and chemical sciences at master’s level.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles in laboratory and research environments across universities, government agencies and industry, applying advanced scientific investigation and analysis skills. Outcomes can include research assistant/associate positions, scientific officer roles, and pathways into specialist R&D areas aligned to biology or chemistry.
