About the course

The Master of Research - SMAH (Chemistry) is a two-year research degree combining advanced research training with an independent thesis. You complete 96 credit points: the first year focuses on research training and supporting coursework, followed by a second-year thesis examined by two external assessors. The program builds high-level research capability and prepares you for further research pathways in chemistry at master’s level. The programme deepens scientific methodology, data interpretation, and applied research skills for laboratory and field-based careers.

Graduates are prepared for research-focused roles in universities, government laboratories, and R&D teams in chemical, materials, and related science industries.
