About the course
This Research Masters with Training is an 18-month full-time (or three years part-time) research degree designed for professionals and graduates who want to deepen research capability and prepare for higher research. You complete research training units before progressing to a supervised thesis, culminating in a substantial piece of original work assessed under Murdoch policy. Candidature is available across disciplines and supports interdisciplinary research at master’s level.
Career outcome
Graduates build advanced research capability for roles requiring investigation, analysis and evidence-based decision-making across industry, government and community settings. The combination of research training and a thesis supports pathways into research-focused professional roles, project and evaluation work, and further study. Successful completion may also strengthen eligibility to apply for PhD candidature, supporting careers in research-intensive practice and academia across diverse disciplines.
