About the course

This program focuses on contemporary publishing and communications practice in a rapidly evolving digital media environment. It explores new business models and expanded digital publishing formats such as eBooks and apps, with an internationally oriented curriculum aligned to current industry practice. Students develop broad, transferable capabilities across key publishing functions for both print and digital contexts.

What you might learn

Students build practical and analytical skills to understand and apply modern publishing practices and technologies. The course develops capabilities in editing, production, marketing, new media and business communications, alongside advanced skills in researching, writing and critical thinking about industry challenges. An optional internship provides an opportunity to apply learning in a professional setting.

Graduates are prepared for roles across publishing and communications industries spanning print and digital media. Career pathways include editorial and copywriting work, commissioning and content development, marketing and publicity, and production-focused roles supporting multi-platform publishing.
