About the course
The Master of Public Administration is a 72-unit program for public sector professionals working in increasingly complex, digitally transforming environments. It combines a core of essential public management knowledge with applied policy and management options, plus an experiential capstone that can include work-integrated learning. The degree is designed to strengthen analytical capability, professional judgement and practical skills for contemporary public administration.
What you might learn
You will build skills in public sector ethics, management and finance, and develop stronger policy analysis and research capability. The program emphasises applied techniques for modern government practice, including working with evidence, managing programs and performance, and understanding institutional and political contexts. A capstone experience supports professional development through internships, applied projects or research-focused study tailored to your goals.

Graduates are prepared for leadership and specialist roles across government and public-purpose organisations. Career paths may include policy officer/adviser, program or project manager, public sector analyst, governance and integrity roles, budgeting and performance roles, and management positions in agencies, regulators, NGOs or international/public policy organisations. The applied and experiential components support advancement for working professionals.
Entry requirements
Entry is based on prior study and/or relevant professional experience. Applicants normally need a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) with GPA 5/7, or GPA 4/7 plus either a related Graduate Certificate/Diploma, 48 postgraduate units with GPA 4/7, or at least 3 years full-time equivalent ANZSCO Skill Level 1 work experience. A GRE pathway is available with minimum scores (155 VR, 155 QR, 4.0 AW). English requirements also apply.
