About the course
The Master of Professional Psychology is a one-year, APAC-accredited Masters by coursework designed for graduates who have completed an APAC-accredited four-year psychology sequence. It develops professional practice capabilities in assessment, intervention, communication and ethics, using an evidence-based scientist–practitioner approach. Learning includes lectures, workshops, skills training and supervised practicums in clinic and external placements, preparing you for a supervised internship toward psychologist registration.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for entry to a final year of supervised internship and subsequent application for general registration as a psychologist (subject to meeting all external requirements). The degree builds practical skills for work in psychological assessment and intervention across community and clinical settings. Roles may include counsellor, case manager, consumer behaviour analyst, social policy analyst/consultant, or psychologist pathways with further training and supervised practice.
