About the course
QUT’s Master of Professional Engineering (Mechanical) builds advanced, discipline-specific capability for practising engineers. You’ll tackle complex industry problems using evidence-based practice, advanced design and analysis, sustainability and ethical considerations, and contemporary professional engineering approaches. The course supports career development in specialist technical roles or progression into engineering management, and is accredited by Engineers Australia for professional engineer recognition in mechanical engineering.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue advanced mechanical engineering roles across sectors such as manufacturing, energy, resources, transport, building services and consulting. Career paths may include mechanical engineer, design or systems engineer, project engineer, maintenance/reliability engineer, product development engineer, or engineering manager. The course strengthens capability to lead complex projects, make high-level technical decisions and communicate solutions to specialist and non-specialist stakeholders as a Masters-level mechanical engineer.
