About the course
Curtin’s Master of Philosophy (Physics) is a higher degree by research designed to extend knowledge beyond honours level through an independent research project culminating in a supervised thesis. The program is predominantly research-based (with limited coursework where required) and develops your capacity to design and complete original research. Graduates may be eligible to apply for entry into a PhD pathway in Physics. The programme advances scientific inquiry through supervised laboratory or field research, data analysis, and thesis-based discovery.
Career outcome
This Master by research builds advanced research capability for careers requiring high-level analytical and investigative skills. Graduates may progress to PhD study, or pursue roles in research organisations, universities, government laboratories and technology-driven industries. The thesis-based training supports work involving experimental or theoretical analysis, modelling, and applied problem-solving. Outcomes are aligned with specialist pathways in Physics research.
