About the course
The Master of Philosophy is a specialised research degree for students who want advanced skills to plan, conduct and apply research. In the Geography and Sustainable Communities area, you develop a research project with academic supervision and complete some supporting coursework, with the option to use the degree as a pathway to further higher degree research such as a PhD. This is a Masters by research in environmental and sustainability-focused geography.

Graduates can pursue research-focused roles across government, consulting, NGOs and community organisations, applying evidence to sustainability and place-based challenges.
