About the course
The Master of Engineering prepares graduates with prior civil engineering study to qualify as professional engineers. You will build advanced capability to analyse complex engineering systems and develop practical solutions, with a civil engineering specialisation covering areas such as geotechnical engineering, structures, environmental and water management, and transport systems. The degree also includes industry-guided research and a 60-day professional placement, supporting Master-level development in civil engineering.

Graduates can pursue roles as professional civil engineers supporting the planning, design and delivery of infrastructure and built-environment projects. The course develops skills for work across areas such as geotechnical and structural engineering, water and environmental management, and transport systems. With an embedded 60-day placement and industry-guided research experience, you may work in consulting, construction, government agencies or engineering services, as a Master-level civil engineering professional.
