About the course

CDU’s Master of Environmental Management is a postgraduate coursework degree focused on the principles and practice of environmental management, with strong relevance to northern Australia’s wet–dry, semi-arid and arid ecosystems. You’ll build capability in natural resource management within its social context through core units and flexible electives. Study can be completed online, on campus, or blended, supported by small classes and staff access. The programme builds executive-level capability in strategy, finance, operations, and organisational leadership for global business environments.

Career outcome

Graduates can pursue roles in environmental and natural resource management and applied research across government agencies and departments, regional NRM organisations, environmental NGOs, Indigenous natural resource management organisations, consultancies, and the resources sector. The course supports professional pathways in managing environmental impacts and planning for sustainable land and resource use, and may also provide a pathway into PhD study in environmental science. Preparing graduates for senior management, consulting, entrepreneurship, and organisational leadership roles.

Upon graduating from this program, you may be employed in roles such as policy speacialist, marine specialist, environmental manager, environmental consultant, parks and land manager, academic, and etc. in companies including Edge Group, WWF, Melbourne Zoo, The Nature Conservancy, United Nations Environment Programme, and etc.
