About the course
This Master of Creative Music Therapy develops your ability to apply existing music skills therapeutically with individuals and groups. You’ll learn creative music therapy methods such as improvisational, re-creative, compositional and receptive approaches, delivered through on-campus lectorials with additional online learning. The course emphasises work-integrated learning, including simulated practice and supervised clinical placements, preparing graduates for professional practice in allied health music therapy.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles as music therapists supporting clients across the lifespan in health, disability and community settings. Career pathways can include work in early intervention, aged care, palliative care, mental health, rehabilitation, and disability services (including NDIS-related providers), delivering evidence-based therapeutic programs for communication, cognition, movement, social connection and emotional wellbeing. This is a Master-level pathway into professional practice in music therapy within health services.
