About the course
The Master of Occupational Hygiene develops specialist expertise to identify, measure and manage exposure to physical, chemical and biological hazards in workplaces. You’ll learn to communicate risk and design effective control strategies to prevent work-related ill health. Delivery is flexible, combining online study with short on-campus block sessions using UOW facilities and an occupational health and safety laboratory, culminating in a research-based capstone workplace project.
Career outcome
Graduates can support safer workplaces by assessing hazardous exposures, advising on risk controls and improving work practices across industry and government. Typical pathways include occupational hygienist roles within mining, construction, manufacturing, consulting, and health and safety teams. You may contribute to monitoring programs, incident prevention, compliance and worker health initiatives. This is a Masters coursework qualification focused on occupational hygiene and workplace hazard management.
