About the course
VU Online’s Master of Mental Health builds advanced, person-centred capabilities to support people experiencing mental ill-health. Delivered 100% online in a flexible block model, you study one unit over a seven-week study period and can start in multiple intakes across the year. The course focuses on contemporary mental health practice, advanced care strategies and leadership in multidisciplinary settings in Health Sciences at master’s level. The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.
Career outcome
Graduates can progress into advanced and leadership-oriented roles across mental health services in community, government and private settings. The program supports capability to contribute to assessment, care planning and recovery-focused practice, and to coordinate or lead multidisciplinary approaches to service delivery. Career directions may include mental health practitioner or clinician roles (scope-dependent), program or service coordination, policy and service improvement roles, and mental health leadership positions in Health Sciences at master’s level.
