About the course
The Master of Laws (Research) is a thesis-based degree that lets you pursue an advanced research project in an area of law you choose, guided by an academic supervisor. The program is individually designed around your topic and develops independent research, legal writing, critical analysis and complex reasoning. You will produce a substantial thesis intended to contribute to knowledge in the relevant legal field as a Master’s by research in Law. The programme develops advanced legal analysis, professional practice skills, and specialist knowledge for complex legal and regulatory contexts.

Graduates may pursue pathways in legal scholarship and research-focused roles across universities, government and policy agencies, courts and tribunals, NGOs, and specialist legal practice areas requiring deep subject expertise.
