About the course
This program develops graduates from any discipline for international business and management careers. You build a management foundation in the first semester, then broaden into leadership, organisational behaviour, entrepreneurship, innovation and strategy. Later study deepens international business capabilities, covering key issues affecting global firms and markets. The degree can be tailored through a chosen specialisation or ANU-wide electives, and may include internship opportunities.
What you might learn
You will learn to apply evidence-based management to complex international contexts, strengthening decision-making and problem-solving. The curriculum develops leadership and change management capability, strategic thinking, and an understanding of organisational behaviour and innovation. You also build knowledge of international business environments and how culture, markets, and societal systems shape global strategy, marketing and people management. Electives or a specialisation allow you to develop depth in a complementary area.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for roles in international business and management across private, public and not-for-profit sectors. The degree supports careers in international strategy, business development, marketing, project management, consulting, operations and supply chain, and organisational change. Skills developed are suited to working with multinational firms, government agencies, NGOs and entrepreneurial ventures, including positions involving cross-cultural management and global market entry and expansion.
Entry requirements
Entry is based on prior tertiary study and/or professional experience. Applicants can qualify with a bachelor degree (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 5.0/7.0, or with a GPA of 4.0/7.0 plus either an honours degree, a relevant graduate certificate/diploma, or at least 3 years full-time equivalent professional experience at ANZSCO Skill Level 1 in a related field. GMAT (550+) or GRE may also be used in some pathways.
