About the course
The Master of Infectious Disease Intelligence (Extension) at UNSW develops advanced capability to understand, analyse and respond to infectious disease threats. You’ll build skills in surveillance, outbreak investigation, data-informed decision making and the systems that support preparedness and response. The extension structure provides additional depth and time to consolidate specialist expertise for work in complex health security settings in medicine-focused practice.
Career outcome
Graduates may work across public health and health security roles supporting infectious disease surveillance, outbreak and incident response, and intelligence-led risk assessment. Career pathways can include epidemiology and surveillance officer roles, health protection and preparedness positions, policy and program roles in government, and analytic roles in NGOs and international agencies. This master’s qualification supports progression in medicine-related infectious disease intelligence and response.
