About the course
This course builds broad knowledge of Indigenous Australian language structures alongside theories of language acquisition and learning, and is designed for Indigenous Australian participants working in education. Delivered face to face in intensive block mode, it develops skills in curriculum development, research methods and classroom-based inquiry while supporting language teaching practice. This is a one-year Masters coursework degree in Education & Teaching.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles supporting the teaching, revitalisation and maintenance of First Nations languages in schools and community programs. The course can strengthen capability in curriculum design, classroom language teaching, and education-based research, supporting work as an Indigenous language educator, curriculum/resource developer, or education adviser in schools, cultural organisations and community language initiatives. This is a Masters coursework qualification in Education & Teaching.
