About the course

The Master of Indigenous Business Leadership is a market-driven program delivered by a global team of Indigenous academics, focused on leadership and enterprise in Indigenous contexts. It uses an interdisciplinary, international and evidence-based approach to address complex challenges facing Indigenous business leaders across for-profit, not-for-profit, public, community and social enterprise sectors. The course is delivered in a flexible mixed mode combining online learning with in-person intensives at Parkville, enabling participation from across Australia.

What you might learn

Students develop advanced leadership capability and critical insight into their own leadership and business practices in Indigenous enterprise settings. The program builds knowledge across key business disciplines (such as leadership, marketing, finance, economics, analytics and human resources) and applies relevant theory to real-world Indigenous enterprise challenges. It also fosters collaborative skills and strategic thinking to respond to emerging opportunities and complexity in the Indigenous enterprise landscape.

Career outcome

Graduates may pursue leadership and management roles within Indigenous-owned businesses and organisations, as well as across public, community and social enterprise sectors. The degree supports career pathways in areas such as organisational leadership, strategy, governance, entrepreneurship, and business development where Indigenous leadership capability is valued. Graduates who complete the research pathway may also be eligible to progress to higher research degrees within Australian universities.
