About the course
The Master of Hydrogeology at UWA develops advanced knowledge of groundwater systems and hydrogeological processes, with a focus on understanding past and present conditions to help predict future change in climate and environmental contexts. You’ll build specialist geoscience capability relevant to assessing groundwater resources and impacts. This is a coursework master’s qualification in hydrogeology within environmental geoscience. The programme deepens scientific methodology, data interpretation, and applied research skills for laboratory and field-based careers.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue hydrogeology roles across sectors that rely on groundwater assessment and management. Career pathways include work in the resources industry (minerals, hydrocarbons and construction), environmental consulting companies, and government agencies involved in water and environmental regulation. Opportunities may also extend to research and educational institutions. This is a master’s-level pathway into professional hydrogeology and applied environmental geoscience.
