About the course

The Master of Forensic Science provides advanced study across key forensic disciplines, including crime scene investigation, fingerprint detection, forensic chemistry and biology, toxicology, illicit drug analysis and forensic medicine. You will complete two compulsory research projects to build capability in planning and executing forensic investigations and research, with an emphasis on analysis, interpretation and professional communication in the field at master’s level in forensic science.

Career outcome

Graduates can pursue roles across forensic and analytical science settings, including forensic laboratories, toxicology and pathology laboratories, drug assessment agencies and customs and border protection. The degree supports careers such as forensic scientist, forensic consultant, drug analyst, private or environmental investigator, and scientific researcher, developing advanced applied and research capabilities suited to professional practice in forensic science at master’s level.
