About the course
The Master of Fine Arts is a research degree that supports advanced development of your art practice through supervised independent study. Delivered by Sydney College of the Arts, you pursue studio-led research and written work in one or more discipline areas, guided by a specialist supervisor. You’ll undertake a substantial research project culminating in a thesis and/or an examined body of creative work. This is a Masters by research in visual arts. The programme delivers postgraduate depth in theory, applied practice, and professional standards for specialist career progression.

Graduates may pursue careers as independent artists and creative practitioners, or progress into roles connected to contemporary art production, curation and arts organisations.
