About the course
The Master of Engineering Practice (Civil Engineering) is designed to build advanced, practice-focused civil engineering capability through a structured postgraduate program. You’ll develop technical and professional skills aligned to industry needs and apply engineering knowledge to real-world civil infrastructure contexts. Study is delivered at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus with February and July intakes, as a master’s coursework qualification in civil engineering. The programme strengthens advanced engineering design, systems analysis, and innovation management for complex industry projects.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue civil engineering roles across infrastructure planning, design and delivery in consulting, construction and government settings. Typical pathways include civil or site engineer, project engineer, design/structural support roles, and positions in transport, water and urban development projects. The program supports progression into higher-responsibility engineering practice roles through a master’s coursework qualification in civil engineering. Preparing graduates for engineering management, technical leadership, and specialist design roles across industrial sectors.
