About the course
This Masters by research builds advanced research capability in aerospace engineering and aviation through an independent, supervised research project. You’ll define a research question, develop appropriate methods and produce a substantial thesis that contributes new knowledge or improved practice. Study is on campus with continuous intake (scholarship closing dates may apply), supported by RMIT’s STEM research environment in aerospace engineering and aviation. The programme strengthens advanced engineering design, systems analysis, and innovation management for complex industry projects.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue research and technical careers in aerospace and aviation, including roles in aircraft and propulsion systems engineering, design and development, testing and certification, maintenance and operations, and safety and performance analysis. The degree can also support progression to PhD study and research-focused roles in universities, government agencies and R&D teams across the aerospace engineering and aviation sector. Preparing graduates for engineering management, technical leadership, and specialist design roles across industrial sectors.
