About the course

This postgraduate major builds accounting capability in data management and information systems. You’ll develop applied skills across IT, program and project management, programming, database design, SQL and algorithm development, plus database analytics and security. The major is flexible, allowing you to select units that support business decision-making and enterprise systems use. It is completed within the Master of Professional Accounting. The programme builds executive-level capability in strategy, finance, operations, and organisational leadership for global business environments.

Career outcome

Graduates can combine accounting knowledge with digital and data skills to support technology-enabled finance and business functions. Career directions include information technology accountant, accountant, auditor, internal auditor, business analyst, tax agent and treasurer roles. Opportunities span accounting practices, corporate finance, government and regulated industries where data governance, systems and analytics inform assurance and decision-making in a masters-level accounting and IT context.
