About the course
The Master of Dental Public Health develops advanced capability in preventing oral disease and improving oral health at a population level, with a focus on vulnerable communities. You’ll build skills in oral health surveillance, policy and service planning, health promotion, research and optimising oral health service delivery. Designed for dentists and other oral health/public health professionals, this is a one-year, face-to-face masters in dentistry. The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.
Career outcome
Graduates may work in population oral health and dental public health roles across government and public health agencies, community health services, research and academia, and organisations involved in planning and evaluating oral health programs. The course supports capability in surveillance, prevention and service optimisation, and may assist eligible registered dentists to pursue specialist recognition pathways in Public Health Dentistry. This is a masters-level qualification in dentistry.
