About the course
The Doctor of Dental Medicine is a 3.5-year full-time graduate-entry program for students with a background in health, allied health, or physical/biological sciences. It delivers an accelerated curriculum focused on preventing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of oral conditions, with research-informed clinical practice. From second year, you complete around 2,000 hours of supervised clinical placements, including training at the UQ Oral Health Centre. The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for a career as a qualified dental practitioner, with skills to deliver patient-centred care across preventive, restorative, prosthodontic and endodontic dentistry. Extensive supervised clinical placement experience supports readiness for practice in community and clinical settings. This Masters-level Dentistry program is designed to develop clinically capable, research-informed dentists eligible for general registration. Preparing graduates for clinical leadership, health management, and advanced nursing or allied health specialist roles.
